What is ERP Software?

ERP or Enterprise Resource Planning Software is software made to integrate a number of key business processes into one system. ERP Software serves to consolidate the many processes that take place in a business into one software offering, eliminating the need for different software products for each department of the company. ERP Software combines the data across systems that were previously kept separate. This integrated computer system allows different departments within a company to share and access information much more easily as data from different departments is stored in a single database. This enables workers to perform tasks quicker and more accurately, increasing the overall efficiency of the business.

ERP Software suites often are composed of a number of different modules that are tailored for a variety of specific business processes. Some common modules found within ERP Software are: Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, Financial Management, Human Capital Management, etc.
